August is generally the time of year when I ramp up the crappie fishing. The sand bass and hybrids can still be found, but they are not as pattern-able as they are in the Spring and early Summer. The crappie fishing has been fantastic though. We are catching way more keeper size fish than we were this time last year. I’d say the ratio is probably three undersized to one keeper right now. Both trips in the photos below netted over 100 and it looks like we had about 25-30 keepers on both trips.
