The weekend started off with a freeze warning. Who in the world would have thought in early April we would be bundled up in our hunting clothing. I had the pleasure of fishing with two young men and their fathers this Saturday and we had a fish in the boat before I could even get rods in everyone’s hands. They came out and toughed out the 38 degree afternoon and loaded the boat with sand bass using slabs in 15-20 feet of water. We caught about 60 fish and I believe we had around 30 on the cleaning table. Plenty of filets for a fish fry. These guys learned a lot and I hope to see them again. Hopefully next time we are wearing our swim trunks and enjoying a sunny day.
